To All Pastors and Preachers…

7 March 2010 One Comment

and Christians…

What or Whose ideas were preached from the pulpit this Sunday (assuming of course)?   Did you hear God speaking this weekend in corporate worship?

Yes, there the words were emanating from flesh and bones, but Whose message did he bring?  Okay, so it was funny, but was it faithful?!

When God’s Word is refrained, the purpose, perspective, and power from the Pulpit… is silenced!

When people come to hear the words of man, not God’s Word to man, the Source has been set aside and the glory has been put asunder!

Calling all Pastors and Preachers from Cape Reinga to the Bluff (from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island of NZ)… and to the “other” Ends of the Earth… Preach the Word,  by Day or by Night, from Week to Week, in Season to the Next (2 Tim. 4:2-3).  You are the Postman… so deliver the goods that have been entrusted to you!

Eloquent words may delight the ear, but only God’s “eloquent” Word can operate on the soul (Heb. 4:12-13; 2 Tim. 3:16-17)!

Preach the Word

To encourage you in this pursuit, here is a John Piper video making much of this pursuit.  Piper has affirmed the following words in the context of this video on Twitter…

I was standing by my father’s grave when I made this video about not wasting your pulpit

If you are attending corporate worship to Herald or be Heralded to, may you Preach with the words of Heaven exploding forth from your inner, or conversely, may you listen with the reality of a child, desperately hanging onto the Words of the Father…
