Life of Messiah: From a Jewish Perspective!

14 January 2010 3 Comments

Finally getting this series on-line, should make someone satisfied… here it is… Happy Days!

This study is an extensive, and in-depth chronological examination of the Life of Messiah from a Jewish perspective, seeking to bring out the cultural and Rabbinic backgrounds to what is happening in the Gospel accounts, which is definitely well worth your investment of time, as such will be both an illuminating time and a rewarding experience!

This study is completed by Dr Arnold G. Fruchtenbaum, a Jewish Believer in Jesus, Yeshua, who is one of the foremost conservative, Evangelical, Jewish-Christian scholars in the world today!  He is also the big falafel (the big cheese) at Ariel Ministries, which you can find out more details about HERE.

Man of Spin has had the pleasure of going on two historical and geographical study tours of Israel, and Jordan on one of these occasions… Yes, I have the 52 odd rolls of film, and the 75 hours of handy-cam video to prove it!  I have had a reasonable amount of interaction with the man, and so I am pretty familiar with both the individual and his ministry context!  He is pretty prolific in the resources section, and has published a number of titles, with Israelology and The Footsteps of the Messiah probably being the most prolific.

Presently his publishing focus is more on completing commentaries on the whole Bible, with his most recent completion, the third edition, on the Book of Genesis… you can find all his titles HERE

and all his other resources for purchase HERE… Ariel are now providing 50 free Mp3′, which is designed as both a discipleship training schedule, and also, I believe, as an introduction to his teaching. You can find these… HERE.

In terms of publishing, there is one other title that will likely be published in 20-10, and that is “the Frucht’s” study on the Life of Messiah from a Jewish frame of reference, which was the focus of this post.  When I spoke with him last, he mentioned that the manuscript was being put together, with all the referencing and collation taking place.  Man of Spin is excited about this, as it will be fully referenced, which will allow the reader the joy of better examining this teaching.

Nevertheless, and quite surprisingly, one is able to download and listen to what looks like a pretty complete Mp3 collection on this subject.  There are 21 lectures in this series, and covers Messiah’s life as harmonised from the Gospel accounts.  Also, there is a PDF syllabus of this teaching series, and also a PDF copy of the Life of Messiah outline.

I feel it wise to mention that if you haven’t heard Arnold before, he does have a distinctive style, which some find hard to initially pick up on the accent/s, which even get picked on when he is in Israel, and also some find his style to be… “how shall I put it”… rather circumspect!

However, as a younger believer, I found this teaching to be revolutionary!

Seriously, you should check this out…

In closing, and in line with the context of this post, let the Man of Spin affirm…

Baruch Attah Adonai Eloheinu Melech HaOlam

For the Fame of His Name
