Hip Hopology: The Starters Edition

Now that you have listened to some righteous prose flow, let’s put a little base to that beat!

Yes, and in the context of a local church… Er What?  Yes, a local church, where you will see Shai Linne put the name of the Creator up in lights, through this “wordy music-type” form.  Man of Spin, then only a mere blog watcher, still remembers the outcry of some as John Piper had a Hip Hop artist perform at Bethlehem Baptist in corporate worship!

This may not be a Hymn, but it is speaking about Him, points to Him, and seeks to glorify Him, so whether the rhyme meets your perceiving, this is all about J-Reason!

While this probably will not see “yo Nana” get down and get righteous for the Soli Deo Gloria, it definitely hits the sweet spot of this cultural moment… and just so ya know, the last track also has an interview with the man in this context for you!

In the next post, Man of Spin will focus on something that this burgeoning Hip Hop movement>conglomeration has produced…

For the Fame of His Name
