Girls Gone Wise in a World Gone Wild

20 February 2010 One Comment

In what should be a must-read title that you will want to purchase for a young lady that you love like Christ does indeed, and let’s face it, we all know someone graced with the femininity variety who would be so blessed, edified, and challenged by this title, which communicates such a counter-cultural message from a main-stream feminism that sells out the radical beauty and individuality of womanhood at the altar of a misinformed and distorted equality!

Mary A. Kassian, she of The Feminist Mistake: The Radical Impact of Feminism on Church and Culture fame… and she even looks culturally normal…

… save, of course, the apparent and evident masculine oppression-given-into-submission, which has obviously been the cause for such repressive thinking… Oh, and barefooted-ness!

Yes, justify this post as another example in the annals of The Humourless Mistake, but you could very well be sounding all-too-colonial… Sanders!  Now that final quip may be causing you to scratch your head, but put such a reference down to my dreaming of KFC!

What has further promoted this book into the thinking of this Man of Spin is due to the fact that this man’s wo-man runs a teenage girls get-to-gether, and such a title looks like it will be the medicine for such times!

Therefore, without any further frivolities, on with the Book… and other related subject “it really matters” matter!

Introducing… Girls Gone Wise in a World Gone Wild

It is not due out until April 1st, 20-10, but if you get in early, it will get here (wherever such may be) quicker!

Here is the blurb off the Product Description…

Inundated by popular culture, many women have lost their bearings and no longer trust the internal compass that intuitively affirms those things that are good, true, and noble about womanhood.  And as Jesus’ favorite and most powerful teaching tactic was the parable, it is appropriate that Mary Kassian walks the reader through the compelling tale of the wild versus wise woman found in Proverbs 7.

By using 21 points of contrast, the reader will be able to discern the difference between wild and wise.  And then evaluate her own direction – is she living as a wise, biblically savy woman?  Or has she bought into the one our culture holds as ideal – the wild woman?

Girls Gone Wise in a World Gone Wild will captivate, convict, and challenge women to become decreasingly wild and increasingly wise.  Includes questions for personal reflection at the end of each chapter.

I am sure you will be interested in the author, so here is her Bio

There is now a site dedicated to content and subject matter related to this title… and no surprise, it is URL’d as… girlsgonewild… and I encourage you to make the most of it!

While this book is still to await it’s final press, Man of Spin has located one description-review, which begins this way…

From women exposing themselves for a camera crew on a beach in Florida during Spring Break, to same-sex dalliances, to the acceptance of “sexting” and other voyeuristic social media activities, girls have gone wild.  In her new book, Girls Gone Wise (Moody Publishers, April 2010), author Mary Kassian says that activities that were once reviled as shameful are now embraced by young women—and sometimes even older women—as symbols of personal empowerment and sexual liberation. But as shocking as this behavior is, to some extent there’s nothing new about it.  Women have “gone wild” for generations and according to Scripture, there is a measure of “Girl-Gone-Wildness” in all of us.  In Girls Gone Wise Kassian proposes that the only way to facilitate real change in the hearts of women is to listen to Scripture’s words of wisdom to figure out who you are and how you should live.

I encourage you to read the entire article… HERE!

As a final point of affirmation, one CHERYL D, the first commenter in the following post, made the comment that such will be one of the best books of 2010… I am sure that the fact she has edited this book, makes no impact!

Seriously, though, this looks like another title that will particularly challenge those caught in the frailties of youth, which can be such a time when the temptations of “foolish”, lack the wisdom of time, when there is also the call to a self-esteem that can be ever-so-strong!

As another reminder, you can buy this title from… HERE!
