Come to Christianity Because It Is True!

21 March 2010 2 Comments

And Because It Is True, It Will Meet Your Needs, It Will Be Exciting, and It Will Be Relevant!

Or His words to that effect…

Oh, and don’t confuse the spelling of “resurrection” with the intellectually credible quotation by Tim “I Like Drinking His Kool-aid” Keller!

The following words, from the Cardiologist, are words that are worth your listening leisure, for the follower, and particularly, for those who are just looking… Potentiated!

THE “FAMOUS” FIVE CLAIMS

1) He was a Man who claimed to be God

2) He did what were apparently Miracles

3) He got the people closest to Him to believe He was God

4) After He was dead, many people saw Him Risen

5) Those people were so transformed that they spread the word of this, everywhere!

How do you credibly account for these things?

How do you honestly account for the data of Who He Is?

You gotta come up with something…

Bias-Free, or at least, with a self-acknowledged position, you may be asking for the first time… really… Who is this Jesus?

For the Fame of His Name

Man of Spin

The Gospel is relevant, exciting and it certainly will meet you needs (all true), but that is not the reason sinners come to Christ or the motivation for preaching the Gospel. In fact, attempts to make the Gospel “relevant, meet people’s needs and exciting (or entertaining) in the past has resulted in the Gospel message being diluted (or watered down) and has resulted in spurious, shallow conversions (not really converted). We need to understand that salvation is the believing response of the sinner under the convicting, regenerating, drawing power of the Holy Spirit to the self-disclosure (or revelation) of God in Jesus Christ through Spirit-anointed preaching of the Word of God. We can have all the programs, entertainment, modern gimmiks and technology to make the Gospel relevant and exciting, but all that cannot substitue for the Word of God preached in the power of the Holy Spirit.
