Laidlaw Principal Dr. Mark Strom Moving on in 2010!

4 December 2009 One Comment

Challenge Weekly have confirmed that Dr. Mark Strom will be leaving his position as Principal at Laidlaw College.  His five-year contract is up for renewal in January 2010, but he has agreed to stay on until September 2010, the National Governing Council of Laidlaw College has announced.

Council chair Graham Burt has said the following of Dr. Strom’s contribution…

During his term as principal, Mark has undertaken a recalibration of Laidlaw College, retaining its strong biblical focus, while moving towards training students not only for mission and pastoral work, but also for engagement with society  at all levels.

After Dr. Strom officially finishes his time at Laidlaw, he will commence his study leave that he has deferred until this time.

Christian News NZ wishes Dr. Strom all the best for his future plans!  While we are not intimately familiar with his time at Laidlaw, the opportunity is there for students, faculty, friends, and even critics to pass on their reflective thoughts.

The big question now that remains is who will take over this position?

Will it be someone internally, or will someone be brought in from another context?

Any suggestions?
