An Update on Matt Chandler’s Health!
Man of Spin first informed you of the Matt Chandler health situation HERE, on December 5th, with a call to pray for him, as he was needing to have surgery for a brain tumor that had made itself known, as a result of a seizure one day at home.
There have been many updates subsequently, and the most recent was some hours before Matt and his wife were going to hear about the Pathology of the growth from the Specialist this day (Wednesday, NZ Time)!

This most recent update was… Report #5: Matt Chandler Meeting with the Doctor Later Today!… which we will quote-to-you… fully…
Matt’s doctor is meeting with him and Lauren and the family late today (Tuesday) to provide them the pathology report’s findings. We hope to communicate those results to you by noon Wednesday. Many of you have speculated that we know the results, but haven’t shared them. Actually, the family will learn the results for the first time today. The reason we are waiting till Wednesday to let everyone know is to give Matt and Lauren time to communicate to family members first. Please honor the family’s request and continue to pray diligently. Thank you for your patience. Your love and prayers for Matt and Lauren and for our church are encouraging.
I will update you readers, probably tomorrow, when the next lot if information is passed on.

Why pray for him to live when he is so close to getting into heaven?

I will take your comment in good faith… however… this is not the place to go baiting…
Your assumption is that people will pray this way (for him to live), however, some will merely pray that God’s will be done, some will pray for strength and courage, and for God’s glory to be revealed through this situation!
To be sure, such a prayer for healing is biblical, as Scripture call us to this perspective (James 5:13-18), as long as through it all, one holds the full biblical witness on this subject, which means following the example of David (2 Samuel 12:15-23) and Jesus (Matthew 26:36-46), recognising that God is in control and is purposeful (Eph. 1:11), that He works all things for the good of His children (Rom. 8:28), and for the sanctification>glorification of their souls (Phil. 1:6)!
In some respect, Paul exemplifies both of these realities as he prayed that he would be free from his thorn in the flesh (2 Cor. 12:8-10), that he would be healed, but also affirmed in Phil. 1:23, that it was better to be with Christ.
