This site is rubbish. What has this to do with ‘Christian News’?

you cheapen yourselves (if that’s possible).

can you please answer my previous question:

is the subtitle of your website:

“Sponsored by the Elusive Brethren & Right Wing American Fundamentalists”

    A joke?

    Genuinely curious.

Gareth, the Christian worldview extends way beyond church on Sunday. We have a comprehensive coherent understanding of ALL reality, including politics.

Any Christian voting Labour needs their head red, I mean read, imo. That is not to say that any of the other parties are much better or worse :-)

Thanks 4 your comments — they have un-cheapened the website at tad :-)

    Elusive. hmmm… I like that.

Now I believe exclusive brethens are unable to use computers, and definitly not the internet. Perhaps I’m wrong, I was once an open bretheren so know a little about them, and have had some contact with them.

you obiviously aren’t an Exclusive Brethren but must rather belong to some other organization eager to take their money, any comments?

Voting for any political party would also not be allowed by exclusive b’s.

The labour party most closely demonstrates adeherence to J.C’s instructions to help the poor. Perhaps not so conforming to Paul and Moses, but that’s strictly for the worshippers of the bible isn’t it?

Afterall the center of christianity isn’t the bible its JC. :-)

Imo jesus was a little red himself…

    check out:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_communism

it actually mentions Plymouth too, which if memory serves me correctly is Brethren related. Perhaps the Brethren have a form of socialism amoung themselves, but would deny us access to it. I believe it’s somewhat a closed club…

    The exclusive brethern recipe:
Set up the ‘ideal’ society ;-) . Require the wider society for infrastructure. Seperate selves from wider society as much as is not unduly inconvenient. Attempt to influence society despite partial non participation.
Persecute unrelated minorities within wider society. Influence general election. Gain tax concessions. complain when they are removed.

Opps better go, Big Love starts soon. :-)

I think you have committed a category mistake re the Labour Party/J.C. By that I mean that Jesus never taught Christians to help the poor through government. From my understanding, we should desire a government in which the church can freely help the poor — one that encourages the church to carry out this mandate. Unfortunately the state has taken over the role of many things such as these — perhaps due to the churches being negligent in their responsibility.

I don’t believe we can separate the Bible from Christ as you suggest. We know Christ largely thru the text of Scripture. We don’t call it The Word of God for no reason ;-) Cheers.
